"The Perfect Fit"

This post is dedicated to "The Perfect Fit" & well worth the read.

As a little girl we've all experienced the excitement of getting our first bra or "training bra" and over the years having a good bra is like knowing how good it feels to breathe lol, well maybe not that extreme but having on the correct size bra should just BE! Ladies I know you've seen it or experienced it and frankly it's time we do without the spillage, the bulging and the uneasy feeling of the incorrect bra size.

When you are without the perfect fit it shows in your presentation. It can be uncomfortable, irritating, and down right well Imperfect. Knowing what size bra you wear & what is comfortable should be on a woman's priority list of things to do, and Phasionlab is gonna give you dolls the run down of how to make the best out of finding "The Perfect Fit"

*First things first, wear something that you can slip on & off, i.e a sundress or a camisole. You need to be able to see the difference Right Away!!

*Next, be open to trying on all types of bra's from Demi (low cut) to Full Coverage because you never know what's going to fit you best until you do.

*Last but not least be patient, there are so many choices, it's like buying your first bra all over again, it's exciting but now your fully aware of what your carrying around =)

Here's the kicker, not every intimate apparel store has the correct training or the know-how to properly fit a woman for "The Perfect Fit". So where should you go to be properly fitted for the correct sized bra? I chose to do a little testing in the lab over the weekend and visited two very popular intimate apparel stores, Nordstroms intimate dept. and Victoria's Secret.

I went to Nordstroms first, where the Sales Associate was very knowledgable, helpful and understanding of my needs right away. She sized me, brought me a variety of bra's to choose from and made suggestions that were BEST for me, doing so while personally assisting me the entire way. Her recommendations weren't based on how cute or expensive the selection was. It was a superb customer service experience, that was private, and made me think about how my next encounter would be.

Victoria's Secret was my next trial, its a woman's intimate apparel heaven. I must admit that I walked in with a bias expectation of how my experience in the world known store would be. Partially based off of my experience in Nordstroms & my own personal retail exp in sales. I walked in, it was a little busy for it to be 6 pm during a week day. Although I was unacknowledged, I still walked up to a sales associate & asked if I could be fitted. She then told me to head straight to the dressing room where I would find another associate who would help me. There was little privacy, I was measured in the middle of the dressing room floor, was told what my bra size was & was offered to try on a bra in my "correct size" and left to myself. I was checked on periodically, was asked how I was doing while screaming how much I liked one cut over the other through the dressing room door. When I inquired about going a cup higher, with hesitation she said "sure" and gave me another bra in the next size up. Not once did she actually ask to look at the fit, but solely relied on me the customer who "wasn't aware" of my correct size, to know if I had finally had the perfect fit or not. I'm sorry for thinking that this is what I made a visit to your store for. I left VS knowing that I would be returning to Nordstroms to make my purchase for "My Perfect Fit" =)

Out of both experiences, I have to say that I would sacrifice Great Service over Sales ANYDAY, and while your experience may differ from my own, please take the time to go be properly fit ladies. Your wardrobe both current & in the future will thank you for doing so, as your presentation will appear to be "Perfectly Fit", and free of any blemishes that are hidden beneath the surface.

My Day at the Mall :-)

Entertaining, Exciting & Fun would be the choice words to describe my day on Sat Aug 13, 2011. I was able to hang out at The Mall at Robinson for their "Shake Up Your Style" Fall Fashion Show & Model Search. There were musical guest, a back to school fashion show & more fashion excitement during the model search...Hey I couldn't let the other girls have all the fun, so I tried out too.

The Host for the day Eric kept the crowd involved by giving away prizes and had the crowd laughing with his infamous "Zoolander" walk and pose. So All is fair in Phasion right?!? Prior to the search starting, Eric asked Myoshi Anderson the Founder of Pgh Fashion Week to "Show Everybody how it's done", she was cheered on by the crowd and immediately showed everyone why she has been able to be successful, with one "Strut" down the catwalk.

There were about 135 contestants in all that turned out for the Model Call and the panel of judges Aundrea Jackson, LaMont Jones, and Jessica Connor, whom were all impressive in their own right, had the task of selecting a handful of prospects that could be participants in the upcoming Pittsburgh Fashion Week, beginning on 9/26!

Hope you guys enjoy the pics, I shot tons of them, this is just a small portion of what I took, for more info about Pittsburgh's 2nd Annual Fashion Week log onto www.pittsburghfashionweek.com.

The Three P's of Phasion

one day while doing my weekly research I came across something, and although some would take credit for the cleverness of what's to be shared it makes perfectly good common sense. This is something that I have shared during workshops and as well as with my clients when consulting...

"The Three P's of Phasion"

*Personal Taste
*Presence
*Personality

Whatever your personal taste, let it exhibit Quality and Style. Well let's define style, style is about your confidence level within because it's not always about what your wearing that makes you stylish!

When you walk into a room, let your presence command attention, let your posture be in line, and your overall appearance be positive. Never command attention in a "thirsty"/negative manner, all the while making your presence known for the wrong reasons. Trust me it's not cute, mature, or in any way appealing to anyone.

Your personality is something else that helps make your style your OWN, Never let your ensemble outshine your personality, it should help balance it, not overpower it. If you aren't comfortable in what you are wearing, it will show...in the things that you do and the way that you act. Be True to who you are even while selecting your attire, it doesn't have to scream Trend, it just needs to be an extension of who you are.

Hope this helps & Thanks for stopping by the lab, be sure to check back in as often as you wish, we have some Great things brewing that you don't want to miss!

Until next time!
